About
Hello, I'm Page Roth
I have had the great privilege to have a varied career as a social services advocate, a community mental health therapist, an educator and career counselor.
My interest in working with couples first started when I served survivors of domestic violence as a survivor’s advocate. I became particularly interested noticing how cycles of relational violence and relational health are often handed down intergenerationally — they are learned. I also saw how past experiences and traumas can get us “stuck” in harmful patterns, even when we desperately desire to move forward. From this place of seeing how much damage a harmful relationship and past traumas can do, I began to become passionate about supporting individuals to heal and to build kind and compassionate relationships to themselves and others.
I have supported hundreds of clients to establish loving and resilient relationships and continually sought out further training in couples therapy and trauma therapy to bring my clients the best resources and learning.
I feel deep gratitude every day that I have the honor of being with couples and individuals as they engage in deep and meaningful work. It is often our deepest sources of disconnect and pain that help us to access more joy and compassion in our daily lives.
Training
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. I hold a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Western Washington University (2017) and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2011).
Since completing my graduate degree, I have pursued extensive training and supervision in couples therapy modalities. I have completed a two-year program in Relational Life Therapy and am a Certified Relational Life Therapy (RLT) therapist. I have also completed Gottman Method Levels 1 & 2 and am pursuing full certification. I have had the great fortune to learn the intricacies of effective couples therapy from my mentor, Connie Feutz, one of the six original “master therapists” at the Gottman Institute. Connie has 35 years of experience providing effective support to couples and developed her Marathon Couples therapy sessions based on her knowledge of how to best support relationships. In 2022 I trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a somatic, highly researched trauma therapy that leads to rapid and long-lasting shifts for clients.
I have served as an adjunct faculty instructor for the Master of Science in Mental Health and School Counseling Program in Western Washington University’s Psychology Department, as well as in WWU’s College of Business and Economics. I deeply care about creating a curious and stimulating learning environment for graduate and undergraduate students and consider myself a life-long learner and seeker of wisdom.
Personally, you can find me adventuring in the outdoors with my husband, gardening and attending local music shows, or curled up with a book and one of my two cats.
